New look, the same Virginia photography you know and love.

The winter months tend to be a slower season for photographers, and although we photograph events and families indoors (Session at The Historic Post Office in Hampton, VA) and in the snow (Snow Session) we have been filling our time with planning for the upcoming busy season and with professional development.  Why does this matter?  There are several reasons why this matters to you.

  1. Education is the foundation of my business. Without the pursuit and application of knowledge, one will not travel very far.  It is my desire to continuously learn so that I can provide a high quality product consistently for you.  Proverbs 27:17 states “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”  I think this certainly applies in any field and is extremely important to my photography business.  One cannot improve at anything alone.  Utilizing experienced mentors and instructors who provide honest feedback promotes personal growth.
  2. Planning for the year helps me to serve you better. Client experience is something I have been spending a lot of time reflecting on this winter.  There is always a better way to conduct the daily tasks of a business which can help me take care of the people I have the honor of photographing even better.

Recently, I attended two workshops.  The first was a Second Shooter Workshop.  We spent the afternoon with Meredith Ryncarz of Meredith Ryncarz Photography learning the ins and outs of second shooting, posing, and photographing details.  The hands-on experience was fantastic, applicable, and challenged me.  The second workshop was “The Reset Workshop” hosted by The Historic Post Office and facilitated by The Restart Specialist.  It was so incredible to listen to other experienced professionals in the photography industry teach about improving the client process and marketing.  I had so much fun getting to know others and learning.   My head was so full at the end, but I came away even more excited about 2017 and beyond!   I look forward to getting to know you and serving you efficiently while providing a high quality product.
