New look, the same Virginia photography you know and love.

The hot July sun and a thick blanket of humidity were really intense on the day we scheduled Grace and Daniel’s Anniversary Session.  It was 96 degrees when we met, but they were such troopers!  We were surrounded by the most beautiful glowing light as we strolled down Water Street in Yorktown, Virginia.   Grace and Daniel looked amazing- Grace with her lovely green and white summer dress and Daniel with his crisp, white Navy uniform.  I have to tell you, though, how incredibly sweet and delightful this military couple is.  They have been married for about a year and a half and the love they have for each other manifested in joyful glances and tender kisses.  I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them as we walked along Yorktown Beach.102Historic-Yorktown-Anniversary-Session-Grace-and-Daniel

Yorktown Beach, situated on the York River beneath Historic Yorktown, has been a popular local hangout for years.  For this photographer, it is a personal favorite because of the unique historic structures, the Coleman Bridge, and the beach.  The sunsets and sunrises there are a sight to behold.  The jetty surrounded beaches are beautiful for sunbathing, playing in the water, and for picturesque, romantic waterfront walks.  When our kids were small, it was the perfect beach for us to enjoy because of the flat waves and close proximity to the bathroom.  I could manage my 3 year old, 4 year old, and 7 year old in one location by myself without the fear of a large wave wiping one of them out while I was managing another.  (Three small kids = zone defense)  We absolutely love Yorktown!  Now it is one of my favorite places to go walking and exploring with my incredible hubby, to sit on the beach with a book, or to enjoy the summer concert series.  By the way, if you are local, you HAVE to go to the concert series this month!  On Tuesdays in August at 6:30 p.m., beginning August 8, several military bands (Navy, Air Force, and Army) will perform.   It will be an amazing treat to sit on the lawn by the water to enjoy the music.  We went last year, and loved it!
