New look, the same Virginia photography you know and love.

It’s funny when you see the relationships you form in your business come full circle.  I had the privilege of shooting Heather’s son’s Senior Session back when I had just started my business. (I was suuuper green!)  Next, her daughter’s engagement session.  Several years later, her daughter’s wedding this past May.  (Erin and Dylan’s wedding) And now?  Heather’s wedding.  It is such an honor to get to work with a sweet family like Heather’s, and when I get to serve nearly the entire family, it is just the icing on the cake.

A July Wedding

Usually July weddings in Virginia are pretty hot, with a great deal of humidity which inevitably causes me to put my hair up in a messy bun halfway through the wedding day!  However, my July brides always get through it looking absolutely stunning. Heather and Richard planned ahead for a hot day, and had their ceremony and reception indoors. Their wedding ended up having the most perfect weather: low 80’s and low humidity!

The Couple’s Story

Heather and Richard met on eHarmony and their love blossomed.  Eventually. Richard moved from the midwest to Virginia, then proposed to Heather at their favorite restaurant in Chesapeake, VA:  Vinos.

Fourth of July Weekend Wedding

Their Fourth of July weekend wedding was laid back and full of the love of family and friends.  The day started with wedding preparations in their waterfront home in North Carolina.  They had the most festive wedding details including personalized flasks and plenty of red, white and blue.  Heather wore her daughter’s bridal necklace and earrings, and was escorted down the aisle by her son and daughter.

Wedding Reception

Tantalizing barbecue was served at the reception, as guests chatted with the newlyweds, friends, and family. As they finished their meals, several close friends and family members of the couple gave speeches and guests toasted to their happiness.

A Waverunner Exit

At the end of the wedding day, I witnessed the most creative exit of all time….on a waverunner! Heather and Richard got onto one of their waverunners and rode it off into the sunset. When they were far from shore, they somehow fell off of the waverunner and returned completely drenched, but still all smiles. Congratulations, Heather and Richard! It was such a joy to capture your day!
