Caroline and Christian’s wedding took place at Seaford Baptist Church and was followed by the reception at beautiful Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. It was a day I won’t soon forget. Caroline and Christian were such a joy to work with, and they had the best July weather! It was in the 80’s and sunny, which was the perfect complement to their day.
Their Story
Caroline and Christian met through one of Caroline’s friends, Kaitlyn, and Christian’s former roommate. Kaitlyn invited Caroline to come up to Richmond for the weekend to meet Christian. She originally said “no”. Kaitlyn promptly showed her a picture of him on Facebook, and well, the rest is history. They really clicked from the very beginning. Some may say that it was love at first sight. Christian proposed to Caroline when they were on a boat. They circled around a lighthouse, took a picture, and then Christian popped the question.
Caroline and Christian are such a sweet, kind, and fun-loving couple. They were seriously so easy to work with! They were all about their love and their family and friends, and it was so easy to see in how they treated each other but also their loved ones. It was truly a pleasure to work with them and to get to know their friends and family.

Preparing for the Wedding

The day began at Seaford Baptist Church in Seaford, Virginia, where the bride, bridesmaids, groom and groomsmen finished getting ready. Caroline and Christian opted to not see each other until Caroline walked down the aisle, so we worked carefully to honor that. As Caroline finished getting ready, her mother and sister helped her to get her dress on and her veil. After that, Christian had a gift for Caroline that her sister and matron of honor, Allison, delivered to her. Along with a small gift bag was a handwritten note. After she read the letter he wrote to her, she opened a black box. Inside was a delicate, gorgeous necklace that her sister helped her to put on for her wedding.

The Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the Worship Center at Seaford Baptist Church, and the love of the families was palpable. Special details in the ceremony included memorial bouquets for Caroline’s late father and for Christian’s late mother, a pianist who was also a family member, a vocalist, and a violinist. Caroline’s brother-in-law escorted her down the aisle where she met her mother who stood with her before the groom took Caroline’s hand. After the ceremony, the newlyweds exited with a shower of bubbles as they exited in a white limousine. After we did bridal party and family photos, we headed to Kingsmill Resort to capture Caroline and Christian on the waterfront at golden hour. The lovely scenery and golden, glowy light did not disappoint!

The Reception
After returning to the James River Ballroom, the DJ introduced the bridal party and newlyweds. Then the bride and groom and their guests enjoyed a delectable meal served by Kingsmill Resort. After the meal, Caroline and Christian enjoyed their first dance as a married couple. Guests joined in the fun as the next song began and everyone was having so much fun! There were so many smiles and so much laughter as everyone celebrated.

At the end of the evening, Caroline and Christian exited as friends and family held sparklers and cheered. Congratulations Caroline and Christian!!!
