A Saude Creek Vineyards Wedding
Mike and Amanda’s wedding at Saude Creek Vineyards in Lanexa, Virginia was a day of beautiful scenery, sunshine adorned with lovely Fall accents. I had been looking forward to their vineyard wedding for a year and was so thrilled for their wedding day to arrive! The weather was absolutely perfect, which allowed us to incorporate that glowy light into their images.
How They Met
Mike and Amanda met at Tradition Brewing Company in Newport News, Virginia. When they first met, Amanda thought Mike was weird. That didn’t last long, though! They spent more and more time together, and fell in love. When Mike decided it was time to propose, he decided to propose to Amanda on the beach. She, of course, said “yes!”

Mike and Amanda were a fun-loving couple, and we enjoyed working with them so much! They were “go with the flow” combined with their caring and fun personalities. When I did their engagement session at Saude Creek last fall, I could tell right away that they adored one another.
The Wedding Day Begins
The day started at the Cottage at Saude Creek Vineyards, where the bride and bridesmaids got ready upstairs whlle the groom and groomsmen got ready downstairs. Amanda’s bridesmaids helped her as they all got ready in the loft of the Cottage, wearing their adorable plaid flannel shirts. They helped her with her hair and with her dress. After she was dressed, she went downstairs where her mother and father helped her with her veil.

Meanwhile, my second shooter was having a blast photographing the groomsmen. They were so energetic and comical! After they were all dressed, they went outside with my second shooter so that she could photograph them near the cottage and amongst the vines, then they celebrated the moment by smoking cigars together.

The Ceremony
The ceremony area at the white Pergola located next to Arris Hall was decorated with lovely wine colored spray of flowers by Williamsburg Floral. Guests waited expectantly as the ceremony began. Amanda looked lovely as her father escorted her down the aisle to meet her Groom. Mike smiled as his bride approached and as her father gave her away to him. They lovingly said their vows under the pergola as the officiant led them. After they exchanged rings and were announced as husband and wife, they signed their marriage license.

Bride and Groom Portrait Session
After photographing the family and bridal party, we took Amanda and Mike down by the Cottage for their bride and groom golden hour portrait session. With the Cottage and the vines, we were able to create some memorable fine art portraits for them. The golden hour light did not disappoint! After their portrait session, everyone got into place for the bridal party introduction.

The Reception
The reception started off with a high energy introduction, which included the parents of the bride and groom. It was such a fun introduction which really showcased the personalities of this fun group! The first dance began immediately following the introduction which was such a tender moment as friends and family looked on as “Come Rain or Come Shine” by BB King and Eric Clapton played in the background.

Dinner, catered by Mission BBQ, was incredible. Dinner was accompanied by beer from Tradition Brewery, which is where they met. After dinner and the cake cutting, they played a Newlywed Game. Then the dance floor opened up and family and friends celebrated the night away!

Amanda and Mike, congratulations! May you enjoy many years of happiness together!
